Based on Lisel Mueller's tender poem about this relationship, the song employs Brahms' Intermezzo, Op. 117, No. 1 as the "accompaniment" for the setting of the text.  A live performance will be posted following the premiere of the work.

Most marches are bright, breezy affairs designed to efficiently and confidently move a group of people from one place to another. AN UNEASY MARCH—marked “Edgy, restless”—is much less certain of itself. It’s a tongue-in-cheek march for people who are not sure where they’re going, why they’re going, or what they’re going to do when they get there.  LIVE RECORDING AVAILABLE SOON.

The title AMBER SKY was suggested by the sometimes subtle, sometimes dramatic sunsets visible from my studio windows. I attempted to depict both types in this lyrical, elegiac work.
